For four decades, the World Series of Poker has been one of the most prestigious and best known poker gatherings around the world.
The WSOP 2010, like in years before since 2005, will take place at the Rio. This important tournament will array 57 bracelet events, starting on May 27, and running until July 17.
The marketing director for the WSOP, Ty Stewart, said that this year the WSOP will have about 376 tables; that's a 30 percent expansion compared to last year. Poker players from all around the world will travel to the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino to take part in the largest tournament series of the year.
There is big expectation for the 2010 WSOP, because some new tournaments will be added in substitution of others. For example, this year the $50,000 HORSE will be replaced by the $50,000 Players Championship
There will be an 8-game mix, promoted by The Players Championship. The mix will include games like seven card stud, seven card stud high-low split-eight or better, limit hold 'em, no-limit hold 'em, razz, Omaha high-low split-eight or better, pot-limit Omaha and deuce-to-seven triple draw lowball.
In the WSOP of this year, a $25,000 six-handed no-limit hold'em tourney will be present. This event will take place toward the end of the schedule, and will extend 4 days. In this match, the main feature will be the familiar faces on July 5th and until the final table is overtaken. The main event will take place on July 17: a $10,000 no-limit hold'em tournament.
The final event of the WSOP on 2010 will take place at the usual date, between the 6th and the 9th of November, crowning this year champion.
